Irving Karchmar is the son of Holocaust survivors who became a darvish of the Nimatullahi Sufi Order in 1992. The Nimatullahi order (also spelled "Nimatollahi" or "Nematollahi" is a Sufi Order or Tariqa originating in Iran He has been a writer, editor, publisher and poet for many years. He has an M. A. in Philosophy from DePaul University in Chicago, and has worked on such varied magazines as Hustler and the American Bar Association (ABA) Human Rights magazine. DePaul University is a private institution of Higher education and Research in Chicago, Illinois, U Chicago (ʃɪˈkɑːgoʊ is the largest City by population in the state of Illinois and the American Midwest of the United States. Hustler is a monthly pornographic Magazine aimed at heterosexual men and published in the United States. The American Bar Association ( ABA) founded August 21 1878 is a voluntary Bar association of Lawyers and law students which is not specific Between 1977 and 1985, he published Fantastic Films magazine. Fantastic Films was a US Film Magazine specializing in the Genres of Science fiction and Fantasy. In 1986, Mr. Karchmar was on the staff that won the Trade Magazine Press Editors Award for work on the ABA’s Barrister magazine. In the same year, he published his first book, It Was Mostly You, a collection of poetry. He also writes the popular blog Darvish.
Mr Karchmar is the author of the Master of the Jinn: A Sufi Novel, a mystical adventure tale on the Sufi path of Love. The book has already been translated and published in Russia (January, 2001, where it is called Povelitelʹ dzhinnov), and in Turkey (April, 2007, where it is called Cinlerin Efendisi). [1] It has also been translated and published in Indonesian (February, 2008, where it is called Sang Raja Jin [2]). Indonesian or Bahasa Indonesia, based on the Riau version of Malay language, was declared the official language with the declaration of Other languages in which the book is now being translated include German, Spanish, Japanese, Urdu, Lithuanian, and Malayalam, the language of the Kerala State of India.
