The Irish Derby is a Group 1 flat horse race in the Republic of Ireland for three-year-old thoroughbred colts and fillies. The race was sponsored by Budweiser from 1986 until 2007. Budweiser is an American-style lager and is one of the most popular beers in the United States. It was announced on 15 April, 2008 that Dubai Duty Free are to sponsor the race from 2008 - 2012[2].
