The International Centre for Human Rights Research or CIIDH (Spanish: "Centro Internacional para Investigaciones en Derechos Humanos") is a Guatemalan non-governmental organisation. Guatemala (República de Guatemala) is a country in Central America bordered by Mexico to the north and west the Pacific Ocean to the southwest It was founded in 1993, in the final years of the country's 36-year-long Civil War, with the aim of promoting and defending human rights and publishing information of interest in that field. The History of Guatemala can be traced back to the arrival of the first human settlers presumed to have migrated from the north at least 12000 years ago {5}
