Illahee State Park, part of the Washington State Park System, is located in the hamlet of Illahee, Washington, USA, just north of East Bremerton, on Port Orchard Bay part of the Puget Sound. Port Orchard, part of Washington state's Puget Sound, is the Strait that separates Bainbridge Island on the east from the Kitsap Peninsula Puget Sound (ˈpjuːʤᵻt is an arm of the Pacific Ocean, connected to the rest of the Pacific by the Strait of Juan de Fuca, in the Pacific Northwest The park offers camping, hiking, and a boat launch and dock. Located within the park is one of the country's largest Yew trees. Taxus brevifolia ( Pacific Yew or Western Yew) is a conifer native to the Pacific Northwest of North America. The word "Illahee" means earth or country in Indian tradition. The land for the park was acquired between 1934 and 1954.
