Ildebrandino Conti was a member of the Conti family, a noble Roman family. Ildebrandino Conti became bishop of Padua in 1319 which was given to him by Pope John XXII. A bishop is an ordained or consecrated member of the Christian clergy who is generally entrusted with a position of authority and oversight Padua ( Padova 'padova Latin: Patavium, Padoa) is a city in the Veneto, northern Italy. Pope John (numbering Pope John XXII (1249 &ndash December 4, 1334) born Jacques Duèze (or d'Euse) was Pope from 1316 to 1334 However he did leave the administration of the diocese to a vicar in Avignon until 1332.
