From 1854 to 1964 Hornsea had a railway station on the Hull and Hornsea Railway which connected it to Hull. Early proposals In 1847 there was a proposal by George Hudson 's York and North Midland Railway, to build a railway to Hornsea from a junction with the Yorkshire Kingston upon Hull ( almost invariably referred This line was opened by Joseph Armitage Wade, whose house once stood where Hornsea School and Language College stands today.
