Holmenkollbanen is a line on the Oslo T-bane network which runs from Majorstuen and up to Frognerseteren. Oslo T-bane is the Rapid transit system of Oslo, Norway operated by Oslo T-banedrift on contract from the transit authority Ruter. Majorstuen is a subway station on the Oslo T-bane. It is located in the Majorstuen neighborhood in the Frogner borough Frognerseteren is the end station of the Holmenkollbanen line of the Oslo T-bane train network located in the Marka section of Oslo, the It is the oldest line on the network, the line which runs highest up and the line with fewest passengers. History

On October 22, 1987 the line suffered a fatal accident when a train suffered a catascrophic failure in the braking system and rolled down the line, finally tipping over at Midtstuen. Operations

Holmenkollbanen is run by overhead lines, and trains switch the system from third rail at Frøen.
