Hillesheim is an old market town in the heart of the Eifel dating back more than a thousand years. The Eifel is a low mountain range in western Germany. It occupies parts of southwestern North Rhine-Westphalia and northwestern Rhineland-Palatinate It is famous for the remainders of its mediaeval city wall from the 13th century and St. Martin's Church. The latter holds a precious baroque organ from 1772, built by the famous Stumm family, annually attracting talented international organists. Due to its picturesque sights and its fascinating history, it attracts many tourists every summer.
