Heroin is an early example of the screamo subgenre of hardcore punk. Screamo is a sub genre of Rock music which evolved from Hardcore punk and Emo in the early 1990s Heroin only released a handful of vinyl EPs and singles, primarily on San Diego record label Gravity Records; the songs on these were later compiled on the Heroin CD in 1997.
