Henry Stafford, 1st Earl of Wiltshire (c. 1479 – March 1522/1523) was an English nobleman. England is a Country which is part of the United Kingdom. Its inhabitants account for more than 83% of the total UK population whilst its mainland

He was the younger son of Henry Stafford, 2nd Duke of Buckingham and of Catherine Woodville, and thus a nephew of King Edward IV of England. Henry Stafford 2nd Duke of Buckingham ( 4 September 1455 &ndash 2 November 1483) played a major role in Richard III of England 's Edward IV ( 28 April 1442 – 9 April 1483) was King of England from 4 March 1461 until 2 October

In 1505 he was made a Knight of the Garter, and in 1509 or 1510 he was created Earl of Wiltshire. The Most Noble Order of the Garter is an Order of chivalry, or Knighthood, originating in Medieval England, and presently bestowed on recipients An earlier creation of the earldom had been held by his great-uncle and cousin, but had gone extinct a decade before. Stafford was a close friend of the King, and Henry VIII was involved around this time with Anne Stafford, Countess of Huntingdon, Stafford's sister.

He married Cecily, Marchioness of Dorset (c. 1460-1530), daughter of the 1st Lord Bonville and 6th Lord Harington and widow of Wiltshire's first cousin Thomas Grey, 1st Marquess of Dorset (c. Thomas Grey 1st Marquess of Dorset KG (1457 &ndash September 20, 1501) known as Lord Ferrers de Groby between 1461 and 1471 and the 1456–1501), but died without children. The earldom expired on his death. After the death of his wife, the title was given to Thomas Boleyn, whose daughter Anne was betrothed to the King. Thomas Boleyn 1st Earl of Wiltshire and 1st Earl of Ormonde, KG (c Anne Boleyn (1501 or 1507 – 19 May 1536 was the Queen of England as the second wife of Henry VIII of England.
