Haughton is a village in Staffordshire, England, approximately 4 miles outside the county town of Stafford. A village is a clustered human settlement or community, larger than a hamlet, but smaller than a Town or City. Staffordshire (abbreviated Staffs) is a landlocked county in the West Midlands region of England. England is a Country which is part of the United Kingdom. A small and peaceful rural village, Haughton contains 2 public houses, The Shropshire and The Bell, both pleasant for a meal or a drink. One of the best pubs in the village of Haughton says a local family. In the centre of the village situated on the main road is Haughton church, alongside which is the Old Village School (now a bed and breakfast). Bed and breakfast, also known as B&B, is a term originating in the United Kingdom, but now also used all over the world for an establishment that offers accommodation The new school is set back from the main road and caters for students between the ages of 5 and 11. The village offers a small selection of shops, the Post Office and Newsagents, hairdressers, and traditional butcher shop and the Red Lion farm shop, where one can purchase the nationally popular Red Lion jersey ice cream (also obtainable at the Post Office and Newsagents) among other delicacies.

One of the many benefits of this peaceful little village is its local school (as mentioned above), who's ever improving facilities and care provide a perfect environment for children to grow and develop in a caring and stimulating environment.




Christmas Lights

Coming up to Christmas the external decorative lights (pictures can be seen here of the 3 main houses) are well worth a visit as the villages inhabitants strive to transform Haughton into the most festive village in Staffordshire. The lights are put up to raise money for local charities. And now, 12 st giles grove have gone festive!!(ish)
