Harriette Tarler (November 4, 1920November 18, 2001), was an American film actress. Tarler is best known for her prominent work in many late Three Stooges shorts. The Three Stooges were an American Vaudeville and Comedy act of the early to mid–20th century best known for their numerous Short subject films In particular, she made her mark in the films featuring Joe Besser as the third Stooge. Joe Besser ( August 12, 1907 &ndash March 1, 1988) was an American comedian known for his impish humor and is now best remembered for his She appeared in eight of the 16 shorts with Besser, and starred in all three of the science fiction comedies (Space Ship Sappy, Outer Space Jitters, and Flying Saucer Daffy). Space Ship Sappy is the 178th short subject starring American Slapstick comedy team the Three Stooges. Tarler left the Hollywood scene in the early 1960s, and returned to New York. In later years, she became an avid orchid grower. She passed away in New York on November 18, 2001. [1]
