Hamilton is an abandoned mining town located in the White Pine Range, in western White Pine County, Nevada, USA. The White Pine Range is a group of mountains in southern White Pine County, in eastern Nevada in the western United States. White Pine County is a County located in the US state of Nevada. Nevada ( is a state located in the western region of the United States of America. The United States of America —commonly referred to as the The town boomed in 1868 and 1869 following the discovery of rich silver deposits nearby, but the ore deposits proved shallow and by 1870 the region was already in decline. Silver (ˈsɪlvɚ is a Chemical element with the symbol " Ag " (argentum from the Ancient Greek: ἀργήντος - argēntos gen Hamilton became the first county seat of White Pine County in 1869, but lost that designation to the town of Ely in 1887. A county seat is a term for an Administrative center for a County, primarily used in the United States. Ely (pronounced, rhyming with "freely" is a city in White Pine County, Nevada, in the United States.

The Hamilton post office was first opened in 1868, and closed in 1931.

Hamilton is now a ghost town, with only scattered ruins remaining at the site. A ghost town is a Town or City that has been abandoned usually because the economic activity that supported it has failed or due to natural or human-caused
