Hagerston is a ward in the London Borough of Hackney and forms part of the Hackney South and Shoreditch constituency. The London Borough of Hackney ( is a London borough in North-East London and forms part of Inner London. Hackney South and Shoreditch is a Borough constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom.
The ward returns three councillors to Borough Council, with an election every four years. At the previous election on 4 May, 2006 Afolasade Bright, Jonathan McShane, and Barry Buitekant all Labour Party candidates, were returned.
