The Hackescher Markt (Hacke Market, named after Hans Christoph Friedrich von Hacke) is a place in central Berlin, Germany, situated at the end of the Oranienburger Strasse. Berlin is the capital city and one of sixteen states of Germany. Germany, officially the Federal Republic of Germany ( ˈbʊndəsʁepuˌbliːk ˈdɔʏtʃlant is a Country in Central Europe. Oranienburger Straße is a street in central Berlin, the capital of Germany. It is a cultural centre and famous for its nightlife. [1]

Hackescher Markt is a rail station on the Berlin Stadtbahn, originally called Börse, and called Marx-Engels-Platz during the DDR era.
