Life

Guo Xiaotian (郭嘯天) and Yang Tiexin(楊鐵心) were neighbours and sworn brothers. Li Ping (李萍 is a Fictional character in The Legend of the Condor Heroes, a novel written by Chinese author Jinyong. Yang Tiexin (楊鐵心 is the father of Yang Kang and the husband of Bao Xiruo (包惜弱 in Jinyong 's novel The Legend of the Condor Heroes The bond between the two was so deep that they swore to each other their unborn children would become either sworn brothers or sisters (if both were of same gender) or be married (if they were of different genders). One day they meet the Taoist priest Qiu Chuji (丘處機) and invite him in from the cold to share some drinks together. Qiu Chuji ( Traditional Chinese: 丘處機 Simplified Chinese: 丘处机 alternately rendered Kiu Chang Chun; Taoist name Chang Chun (長春 or Perpetual Qiu Chuji (丘處機) strikes up a fast friendship with the two young men and presented each with a dagger and promised to return to transfer his skills to their sons.

One evening, Song soldiers led by Duan Tiande (段天德) arrived to arrest Yang Tiexin and Guo Xiaotian as traitors. Yang Tiexin and Guo Xiaotian resist but they are overmatched and Guo Xiaotian is killed eventually.
