Guaitecas Archipelago (Spanish: Archipiélago de las Guaitecas) is an archipelago in the municipality of Guaitecas in the Aisén province. Guaitecas is Chilean commune located in Guaitecas Archipelago which are part of Aisén Province and Region. The Ciprés de las Guaitecas (Spaniash for Pilgerodendron) tree is named after the archipelago. Pilgerodendron is a Genus of conifer belonging to the cypress family Cupressaceae. The main settlement the archipelago is Melinka. Melinka is a Chilean town ( Spanish: pueblo) in Aisén Province, Aisén Region.
