The Grosvenor House Hotel is one of the largest and most famous luxury hotels in London. Mayfair is an area of central London, England, within the City of Westminster. It is an outpost of London's largest cluster of luxury hotels, which is centred on Hyde Park Corner. Hyde Park Corner is a place in London, at the south-east corner of Hyde Park. The Great Room (which is a separate room to the Ballroom) at the Grosvenor House is the venue of many prominent awards evenings, charity balls and the like and is often seen on British television, and is one of the largest ballrooms in Europe, with a capacity of about 2000 (theatre style) or 1500 seated at 150 10 person round tables. The Grosvenor House Hotel is now owned by Royal Bank of Scotland, managed by Marriott International and is undergoing a multi-million pound renovation and restoration. Marriott International Inc ( is a worldwide operator and Franchisor of a range of value and luxury Hotels and related Lodging facilities. This includes a full refurbishment of all restaurants, guest rooms, health facilities, and public areas. Upon completion late 2008, the hotel will be renamed Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel.
