Gros Ventre River is also the name of a river in northwestern Wyoming. The Gros Ventre River ( pronounced GROW-VAUNT) is a tributary of the Snake River located in the state of Wyoming. In 1925 a massive rockslide dammed the river. The resulting lake overflowed, causing damage downstream.
