Gretl Aicher (born 1928) is the Artistic Director of the Salzburg Marionette Theatre. The term art director is a blanket title for a variety of similar job functions in Advertising, Publishing, film and Television, the Internet Salzburg Marionette Theatre was established in 1913 and is one of the oldest continuing Marionette theatres in the world [1] [2]

Gretl Aicher took over the position of Artistic Director of the famous Salzburg Marionette Theatre in 1977 on the death of the former director, Hermann Aicher [3]. With her father she has been linked for a considerable time with the success of the company. Her grandfather, Anton Aicher founded the company in 1913. Anton Aicher (born 1859 was the founding Artistic Director of the Salzburg Marionette Theatre.
