The merger of the three clubs made SV the second-largest club in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania with some 1400 members. The club has a strong focus on youth football and has links to a number of area schools. It also is a DFB-affiliated training centre and has sent on several players to FC Hansa Rostock and state select teams. Overview The NOFV-Oberliga Nord was formed in 1991 when along with the political reunion of Germany, the former East German football league system was integrated The club merged in 2003 with the ESV Greifswald for financial reasons and thereby dissolved. Through the ESV, the Greifswalder SV is therefore carrying on the SC's tradition. The SC played its last game on 31st of May 2003, beating SV Blau Weiss Polz 5-2[1].
