Greg Parker is Professor of Photonics at the University of Southampton, Hampshire, England. Photonics is the science of generating controlling and detecting Photons particularly in the visible and near Infra-red spectrum, but The University of Southampton is a university situated in the city of Southampton, on the south coast of England. A large-format coffee-table book of deep-sky images has been completed and will be published early in 2009. He has 13 patents on optical devices and circuits and has created three successful companies. His most recent spin-out from Southampton University was Mesophotonics Ltd. [1].
