Green River is located at 38°59'36" north latitude & 110°8'60" west longitude (38. 993258, -110. 149961)[3], on the banks of the Green River, after which the city is named. The Green River, located in the western United States, is the chief tributary of the Colorado River. The San Rafael Swell region is to the west of Green River, while Canyonlands National Park lies to the south. The San Rafael Swell is a large geologic feature located in south-central Utah, USA about 30 miles (50 km west of Green River Utah.
