Brief history

The Glasgow Tigers were established in 1946 and were initially based at the White City stadium on Paisley Road West, Ibrox, Glasgow (close to Rangers F.C.'s Ibrox Stadium). In 1988, the club managed to return to Glasgow when they moved into Shawfield Stadium, Rutherglen. Shawfield Stadium is a Greyhound racing venue in the town of Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire, Scotland, located close to the boundary with Rutherglen (pronounced ruh-ther-glen is a town in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. Here they stayed until 1998, with the exception of the 1996 season when the poorly supported Scottish Monarchs rode there in top flight speedway.

In 1999 the club moved to its current home at Ashfield, home of the Glasgow (or Ashfield) Giants 1949 - 1953, when the speedway track replaced the old greyhound racing track. [2]
