Gideon Omokirio (born October 12, 1976) is a Solomon Islands footballer who currently plays as a defender for Honiara FA League side Kossa FC. Nicknamed Giggs, Omokirio has always played his club football in his home country, also playing for Laugu.
Omokirio made his debut for the Solomon Islands in a May 1996 OFC Nations Cup match against Tahiti and has represented his country in every age group at international level including representing his country at the 2006 Beach soccer World Cup[1] and the 2007 edition. The Solomon Islands national football team is the national team of the Solomon Islands and is controlled by Solomon Islands Football Federation. The Oceania Nations Cup 1996 was not held as a cohesive tournament but consisted of semi-finals and a final played on a two-legged basis stretched out between November 1995 The Tahiti national football team is the national team of French Polynesia and is controlled by the Fédération Tahitienne de Football.
