Career
After a stint with the Marine Corps. , he used his GI bill income to train at the Neighborhood Playhouse in NYC. Throughout the early 1950s, he was frequently seen on TV. The highlight of his stage career was a national tour of A Streetcar Named Desire as Stanley Kowalski, opposite Tallulah Bankhead as Blanche DuBois. A Streetcar Named Desire is a 1947 play written by American playwright Tennessee Williams for which he received the Pulitzer Prize Stanley Kowalski is a fictional character in Tennessee Williams ' play A Streetcar Named Desire.
