Davidson was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of the Northwest Territories in the 1888 Northwest Territories general election. The Legislative Assembly of the Northwest Territories or Legislative Council of the Northwest Territories, Canada, is located in Yellowknife. The Northwest Territories general election of 1888, was the first general election in the history of the Northwest Territories, Canada. He won the riding of South Qu'Appelle. He ran for a second term in office in the 1891 Northwest Territories general election defeating George Bulyea. The Northwest Territories general election of 1891 was held on November 7 1891 to elect twenty five members of the Legislative Assembly of the Northwest Territories, Canada George Hedley Vicars Bulyea (February 17 1859 in Gagetown, Queens County New Brunswick – July 22 1928 in Peachland British Columbia, Canada Davidson was defeated running for a third term in office by Bulyea in the 1894 Northwest Territories general election[1]
