The son of Korean immigrants, Ha was born in Chicago and brought up in South Bend, Indiana. College for Creative Studies (CCS is a leading art education institution in the United States. He currently resides in Oak Park, Illinois with his wife Lisa and two beagle-bassets. Oak Park Illinois is a suburb bordering the west side of the City of Chicago in Cook County, Illinois, United States.

In 2006, Ha is set to serve as artist on the first four issues of a relaunch of Wildstorm's The Authority, which will be written by Grant Morrison and published bimonthly.
