"Gaslighting Abbie" is the first track on Steely Dan's 2000 Grammy Award-winning album Two Against Nature. Steely Dan is a American rock band centered on core members Walter Becker and Donald Fagen. Explanation of the title

The term gaslighting is derived from the film Gaslight (1940 and 1944) in which a scheming husband tries to drive his wife insane by, among other things, manipulating the gaslight in their home. Gaslighting is a form of Psychological abuse.
