GONGO - Citizendia

GONGO stands for Government-operated Non-governmental organization, which may have been set up by governments to look like NGOs in order to qualify for outside aid. For the government of parliamentary systems see Executive (government. Often, GONGOs are set up by undemocratic governments to create confusion when NGOs who seek to promote democracy in the country in question. ^[1]
