Furusetbanen is a subway line on the Oslo T-bane which serves the southern part of Groruddalen in the northeast. Unlike much of the suburban Oslo subway network, much of Furusetbanen runs through tunnels. A tunnel is an underground passageway The definition of what constitutes a tunnel is not universally agreed upon The only open-air station on the line is Haugerud. Trosterud is also over ground, but is built in at a tunnel entrance. Like all other eastern lines, Furusetbanen is operated by third rail. Before all the Oslo subway lines were connected to run through downtown, Furusetbanen was operated by Line 6, it is now operated by Line 2 which operates on Røabanen on the west side.
