Fundamental patterns are one of the types of design patterns. In Software engineering, a design pattern is a general reusable solution to a commonly occurring problem in Software design. They are termed fundamental as they form the basic building blocks of the other patterns. Most of the other patterns and most modern applications draw on these patterns in one way or another.
