Fumetti Neri (Lit. black comics) is a subgenre of Italian comics, born in Italy with the creation of the Diabolik character. The heroes of fumetti neri are more anti-hero or villain than traditional heroes. Diabolik itself was very loosely based on the French Fantômas character.
