Fritz Jules Roethlisberger (1898-1974) was a social scientist and management theorist. In 1937, Roethlisberger and W. J. Dickson published the first comprehensive findings of the Hawthorne experiments. The Hawthorne effect is a form of reactivity, and describes a temporary change to behavior or performance in response to a change in the environmental conditions with the response He also authored Management and the Worker in 1939.

He started his career at the Harvard Industrial Research Department and later became a professor at Harvard Business School. Harvard Business School ( HBS) is a renowned Business school in the United States He was a graduate of the MIT Sloan School of Management.
