Frindsbury Cricket Club is a cricket club based in Frindsbury, Kent, England. History

The club was founded in 1885 playing first at Long Meadow, behind the old Strood Rural District Council Offices on Frindsbury Hill. This article is about the town in Kent England For the creek in Essex, see The Strood Strood is a town in the Unitary The Club stayed there until 1963 when Long Meadow was compulsory purchased by a local cement firm.

The club moved to a new ground was found at Frogs Island, Upnor. Lower Upnor and Upper Upnor are two small villages in Medway, Kent, England. In 1984, a new pavilion was built following a fire that destroyed the original wooden Clubhouse.

In 1985 the club marking its Centenary year by winning the old South Thames League for the first and only time. Playing fields are located at Frogs Island with the frog being a major part of the club crest which was designed in 2006. The club has a fully licenced bar, changing facilities, a large hall and three artificial training nets.

On 25 April 2006 the club achieved the Sport England Clubmark and the National Governing Body of cricket accreditation. Sport England is the brand name for the English Sports Council and is a Non-departmental public body under the Department for [1][2]

Teams

The first XI finished third in 2006 in the Medway Ashes and finished eighth in the Kent league. The 2nd XI finished fifth in the league with the Sunday team winning the league. In 2007 the club runs seven teams ranging from under 11's to senior teams. There is an expanding colts section, in 2007 it had about 100 members playing in four teams. The club plans to start a girls team, which will be the first in Medway.

The First XI play in the Kent Cricket Feeder League East, 1A in 2007. [3]
