Friction Groove was a band formed c. 1983 by Ali McMordie after the break up of Stiff Little Fingers. Alison Rolls went on to join the 12-piece BackBeat Band (soul and rhythm'n'blues), later leaving to form her own 8-piece group Short People. She has since formed 99lbs (a tribute band to Ann Peebles). Ann Peebles (born April 27 1947, in St Louis Missouri) is an Internationally acclaimed Singer and Songwriter best known She is still living and performing in and around Reading, Berkshire, UK.
