The watershed (basin) of the Fresh Kills drains much of the wet lowlands of the western portion of the island and flows into the Arthur Kill around the Isle of Meadows. Fresh Kills Park Project

Covering 2,210 acres (8. 9 km²), three times the size of Central Park, Fresh Kills Park will offer a variety of public spaces and facilities for varied activities. Central Park is a large public Urban park in New York City, with about twenty-five million visitors annually The site is large enough to support many sports and programs including nature trails, mountain biking, community events, outdoor dining, sports fields, kayaking and canoeing. A large wind farm is proposed for the park which has the potential to deliver electricity to 5,000 homes in Staten Island. [2]
