FreeMove is an alliance of several European mobile telecommunications operators, designed to provide better service integration for its members' roaming customers. Roaming is a general term in Wireless Telecommunications that refers to the extending of connectivity service in a location that is different from the home location It is a competitor of Starmap and Vodafone (the latter of which is not an alliance, but provides the same benefits due to its presence in so many European and world markets). Starmap Mobile Alliance is a preferential service agreement signed in February 2004 by a group of European GSM Cell phone providers to provide their Vodafone is a Mobile network operator headquartered in Berkshire, England, UK.

The idea for mobile alliances came from the airline industry, where groups such as Oneworld and Star Alliance have existed since the 1990s. The Oneworld alliance is the third largest Airline alliance after Star Alliance and SkyTeam. Star Alliance is the world's first and largest Airline alliance.

Currently FreeMove comprises Orange (France Télécom's mobile subsidiary), TIM (Telecom Italia's mobile subsidiary), T-Mobile (Deutsche Telekom's mobile subsidiary) and TeliaSonera. Orange is the brand used by France Telecom for its Mobile network operator and Internet service provider subsidiaries France Télécom () is the main Telecommunication company in France and one of the largest in the world Telecom Italia () is the largest Italian Telephone company. Now a private company it was founded in 1994 by the merger of several state-owned telecommunications T-Mobile is a Mobile network operator headquartered in Bonn, Germany. Deutsche Telekom AG (,) ( English translation German Telecom) (abbreviated DTAG) is a Telecommunications company headquartered in TeliaSonera AB is the dominant Telephone company and Mobile network operator in Sweden and Finland. Within Europe, these companies have operations in Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom. Outside of Europe, T-Mobile operates in the United States.

In January 2006, Telefónica announced that it will leave the FreeMove alliance as a condition of the acquisition of the mobile telco, O₂. Telefónica SA, (,,,,) is a Spanish telecommunication company. Telefónica Europe plc is a European Telecommunications company providing both fixed and mobile communication products usually under the styled brand O2 However later in 2006, TeliaSonera agreed to become a member.
