He was born in Chatham, New Brunswick, the son of Lemuel John Tweedie and Agnes Loudoun. Chatham is a Canadian urban neighbourhood in the city of Miramichi, New Brunswick. Lemuel John Tweedie ( November 30, 1849 &ndash July 15, 1917) was a politician from Chatham New Brunswick. In 1908, he married Frances Agnes Watt. Tweedie was president and manager of the Miramichi Foundry Machine Works. He served two years as mayor of Chatham.
