Career
Faison started his acting career in 1974 in the New York Shakespeare Festival production of King Lear, with James Earl Jones in the title role. Faison was born in Newport News, Virginia, the son of Carmena (née Gantt) and Edgar Faison. Newport News is an Independent city in Virginia. It is at the south-western end of the Virginia Peninsula, on the north shore of the James River [1] He studied drama at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois. Bloomington is a city in McLean County, Illinois, United States and the County seat. He is married to Jane Mandel and they live in Montclair, New Jersey. Montclair (mɒnʔ kɫeɚ or maŋ kleɚ is a township in Essex County, New Jersey, United States. New Jersey ( is a state in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern regions of the United States. He is unrelated to Scrubs and Clueless star Donald Faison. Scrubs is an Emmy and Peabody Award -winning American Comedy-drama that premiered on October 2 2001 on NBC.
