In 1633, Cairo moved to Turin to work as a court painter, including portraits, to Vittorio Amedeo I of the House of Savoy. Carlo Francesco Nuvolone (1609-1702 was an Italian painter of the Baroque period active mainly in Lombardy. Ludovico Antonio David and Pietro Scalvini were among his pupils. Pietro Scalvini (1718-1792 was an Italian painter of the late- Baroque and Neoclassic period active in Brescia.
