Following the losses of the harsh winter in White Deer Park, the animals face a new danger when they are treated with hostility by many of the Park's residents, including the territorial fox, Scarface. This article is about the Animals of Farthing Wood television series
The book begins with the birth of Vixen's four cubs: Bold, Friendly, Charmer and Dreamer and follows their early lives as they are supported and protected by all the remaining Animals of Farthing Wood. Introduction Vixen is the mate of Fox and is voiced by Stacy Jefferson Early life Bold was born in White Deer Park to Fox and Vixen of Farthing Wood Friendly is a character from the Farthing Wood series of children's books They grow gradually more independent as the story progresses.
Several meetings of the Farthing Animals are held, to decide on how best to deal with the new problems facing them and they maintain the "community spirit" established with the Ancient Woodland Oath, reinforced by the journey and the perils of winter. As a result of the territorial feelings of Scarface, they become confined to a small area of the Park and there are several eventful meetings between Farthing and White Deer Park foxes on both sides of the boundary.
In contrast to the TV series, the original story has Mole surviving to take part in the events following the winter. Character Mole is an extremely sensitive character and is easily and frequently moved to tears The presence of the Hedgehogs is also notable. Mr Hedgehog Mr Hedgehog is first seen in Farthing Wood observing the destruction of the animals' woodland home by mankind and helps gather the other animals when Other characters who continue to play a major role in the story include Fox and Vixen, Badger, Tawny Owl, Weasel and Adder. Personality Fox cares deeply for his friends who traveled with him Introduction Vixen is the mate of Fox and is voiced by Stacy Jefferson TV Series Season 1 Badger was one of the more respected members of the group and was relied upon by Fox, several times TV Series Owl was voiced by Sally Grace Season 1 Owl often acts pompous and haughty and is highly critical of the other animals In the TV Series While male in the books Weasel was female in the cartoon Adder is a Fictional character from the novel series The Animals of Farthing Wood, written by Colin Dann. Several of the smaller animals also feature and play helpful roles in opposing Scarface.
