The Fortune Global 500 is a ranking of the top 500 corporations worldwide as measured by revenue. A corporation is a separate legal entity usually used to conduct business In business revenue or revenues is Income that a company receives from its normal business activities usually from the sale of goods and services The list is compiled and published annually by Fortune magazine. Until 1989 it listed only non-US industrial corporations under the title "International 500", while the Fortune 500 contained and still contains exclusively US corporations. Please do not add the complete list of fortune 500 companies The list is copyrighted by Fortune which makes money by selling the content In 1990, US companies were added to compile a truly global list of top industrial corporations as ranked by sales. In 2005, more than 450 of them were headquartered in the United States (176), Europe (195), and Japan (80). [1]
Since 1995, the list has had its current form, listing also top financial corporations and service providers by revenue.
