Flipp is a Minneapolis-based band (1995) which attempted to revive the Glam-rock era of the early 1970's using its combination of tongue-in-cheek social commentary, self-deprecating wit, cartoonish stage costumes and bizarre, non-sensical electronics, pyrotechnics and production elements. Rattling Bones was a New York City -based band from 1991-1993 playing blues-based hard rock reminiscent of Deep Purple and the Black Crowes. Flipp’s first, Self-titled album was released in 1997 to critical praise, and was supported with a busy tour schedule as a front act for Oasis, Cheap Trick and other established bands. Eidem left the group shortly thereafter, to spend more time with his new family. He was replaced on bass by Freaky Useless. In 2001, Arens teamed up with former Kiss manager Bill Aucoin to help with the band’s second release. Kiss (also typeset as KISS) is an American rock band formed in New York City in December 1972 William 'Gui' Aucoin (also known as Bill Aucoin) is a band manager that has managed several successful bands during the course of his career “Blow It Out Your Ass!” was released in 2001.
In 2002, the band was signed to Artemis Records, and released an album entitled "Volume," which was produced by Everclear frontman Art Alexakis. Everclear is a rock band formed in Portland, Oregon, USA, in 1992 Arthur Paul Alexakis (born on April 12, 1962) is the Singer, Lead guitarist and Songwriter of the rock band Everclear Half of the songs from their previous effort were rerecorded for "Volume," and the album included some new songs as well, with many featuring uncredited backing vocals by Alexakis.
Although the band toured incessantly, record sales were lackluster, and the band members started working on side projects. While they have not officially broken up, they have not performed live or recorded anything since 2003. As of 2007, no immediate plans for a reunion have been made.
