The Fibonacci Quarterly (sometimes Fib. Quart. in bibliographies) is the official publication of the Fibonacci Association, intended "to serve as a focal point for interest in Fibonacci numbers and related questions, especially with respect to new results, research proposals, challenging problems, and innovative proofs of old ideas. The Fibonacci Association is a group that promotes research into Mathematics related to the Fibonacci numbers The association was founded in 1963 by the In Mathematics, the Fibonacci numbers are a Sequence of numbers named after Leonardo of Pisa, known as Fibonacci " Published since 1963, its founding editors were Verner Emil Hoggatt, Jr. and Alfred Brousseau. Year 1963 ( MCMLXIII) was a Common year starting on Tuesday (link will display full calendar of the Gregorian calendar. Verner Emil Hoggatt Jr ( June 26, 1921 &ndash August 11, 1980) was an American Mathematician, known mostly for his work Alfred Brousseau ( February 17, 1907 – May 31, 1988) was an American Monk, Photographer and Mathematician [1] Currently it is edited by Curtis Cooper of the UCM Mathematics department. Dr Curtis Cooper is a professor at the University of Central Missouri, at its Department of Mathematics and Computer Science The University of Central Missouri (formerly Central Missouri State University) is a four-year public institution in Warrensburg Missouri. It is available in hard copy from most libraries as well as online.

The journal has its own editorial board, but the board of directors of the Fibonacci Association also helps. Additionally, there is a rotating group of additional referees consisting of "mathematicians, engineers and physicists"; for example, the referees for 42 included Ron Graham, Jud McCranie, Carl Pomerance, and Samuel S. Wagstaff Jr., among a couple dozen others. Ronald Lewis Graham (born October 31, 1935) is a Mathematician credited by the American Mathematical Society with being "one of the principal Carl Pomerance (born in 1944 in Joplin, Missouri) is a well known number theorist. Samuel Standfield Wagstaff Jr is a professor of Computer science at Purdue University who coordinates the Cunningham project, a project to factor

Starting with the February 2004 issue, the journal invites "well known mathematicians and scientists" to write articles on how they "use Fibonacci numbers, or similar recurrence sequences, in their research and writing. " The first such article was by George Andrews on the Fibonacci numbers and the Rogers-Ramanujan identities. Articles in the journal touch on various topics – some more closely related to the Fibonacci numbers than others – such as the Fibonacci fractions, the Collatz sequence, cryptography, etc. The Collatz conjecture is an unsolved Conjecture in Mathematics. Cryptography (or cryptology; from Greek grc κρυπτός kryptos, "hidden secret" and grc γράφω gráphō, "I write"
