Ferndale Baptist Church is a Baptist Union affiliated church in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. The Baptist Union of Great Britain is the oldest and largest national association of Baptist churches in Great Britain. Essex is a county in the East of England. The County town is Chelmsford, and the highest point of the county is Chrishall Common

The church's pastor is Stephen Dray, who edits the Christian Journal 'Evangel', and who is a regular contributor to Evangelicals Now. Evangelicals Now is a monthly Evangelical Christian newpsaper based in Surrey, England.

The church is well known for its annual 'FutureFaith' conferences, where well known evangelical Christians give lectures on their perception of the future of Christianity. Previous speakers have included theologians J.I. Packer, I. James Innell Packer (born July 22, 1926 in Gloucester, England) is a British-born Canadian Christian theologian Howard Marshall, Daniel Strange of Oak Hill Theological College and John Wilks of the London School of Theology. Oak Hill College is a Theological college located on Chase Side in Southgate, London, England. London School of Theology (formerly London Bible College) is an evangelical Theological college based in Northwood in the London Borough

In 2006, the church was involved in ensuring the continuing survival of a community hall on the nearby St Luke's estate. [1]
