Feneos or Pheneos (Φενεός) is a municipality in Corinthia, Greece. A municipality is an administrative entity composed of a clearly defined territory and its population and commonly denotes a City, Town, or Village, or Corinthia (Greek Κορινθία Korinthía) is the area around the city of Corinth, located in the north-eastern part of the Peloponnese peninsula Greece (Ελλάδα transliterated: Elláda, historically, Ellás,) officially the Hellenic Republic (Ελληνική Δημοκρατία Its population was 2,359 as of 2001. The seat of the municipality is in Goura. In ancient times the area was considered part of the Arcadian region. Arcadia or Arkadía ( Greek Αρκαδία is a region of Greece in the Peloponnesus. Feneos lies at the foot of Mount Cyllene, mythical birthplace of the god Hermes. Mount Kyllini or Mount Cyllene /sɪˈliːniː/ ( Greek Κυλλήνη /kyˈlːɛːnɛː/ Mod Hermes ( Greek,, ˈhɝmiːz in Greek mythology, is the Olympian god of boundaries and of the travelers who cross them of Shepherds and It therefore served as an important cult centre for the god, notably during the anual festival of the Hermaea.
