Federal Correctional Institution, Herlong

The Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Herlong is a medium security institution housing male inmates, with a satellite camp that houses minimum security male inmates in Herlong, California. Herlong is an unincorporated community in southern Lassen County California located near the southeast edge of Honey Lake about north of Reno Nevada

The facility is located in the high desert landscape of the Honey Lake Valley in northeastern California near the Nevada border. Honey Lake is a medium-sized natural Lake located in the Great Basin in the western United States. California ( is a US state on the West Coast of the United States, along the Pacific Ocean. It lies in Lassen County, about 40 miles southeast of Susanville, CA, 60 miles northwest of Reno, NV, and 190 miles northeast of Sacramento, CA.
