Farse was a five piece ska-punk band hailing from Birmingham in the West Midlands. Ska punk is a fusion Music genre that combines Ska and Punk rock. Birmingham ( ˈbɜːmɪŋəm Ber -ming-um They attended Bishop Challoner school in Kings Heath, where the band formed. After releasing a string of demos they released their debut album, Means To An End, (recorded at Rich Bitch studios) on 8 October 2001. The record created a buzz throughout the underground scene and attracted the attention of the Moon Ska Europe label. Moon Ska World, formerly known as Moon Ska Europe, is the European sister label of the defunct Record label Moon Ska Records. Farse then entered UB40's Dep Studios, to record their second album Boxing Clever in late 2002. UB40 are a British Reggae band formed in 1978 in Birmingham. Featuring the same line-up of 8 musicians from 1978-2008 the band placed more than 50 Following the album's release the band's popularity grew, with the video for the song Hopscotch receiving heavy rotation on the-now defunct-digital music channel p-rock. The Band then embarked on several headlining tours throughout the UK before unexpectedly announcing their split in early 2004. During their career they performed with similar acts such as King Prawn, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Mad Caddies, Bowling For Soup, Reel Big Fish and Capdown. King Prawn were a prominent band of the UK Ska punk scene during the 1990s and early 2000s Voodoo Glow Skulls are an American third-wave ska band formed in 1988 in Riverside California by brothers Frank Eddie and Jorge Casillas and The Mad Caddies (or the Caddies) are a Third wave ska band from Solvang California. Bowling for Soup is an American Rock band who originally formed in Wichita Falls, Texas in 1994. Reel Big Fish is an American Ska punk band from Huntington Beach California, best known for the 1997 hit " Sell Out. Capdown were a band from Milton Keynes, United Kingdom. The final performance was held on Thursday March 18th at the Carling Academy 2 in Birmingham. The show involved past members of the band joining to play on stage and finished on the song 'Youth On Paper', a song said to have been previously unheard at live shows.
