The 1959 European Basketball Championship, commonly called Eurobasket 1959, was the eleventh regional championship held by FIBA Europe. FIBA Europe is a zone within the FIBA association which includes all 49 national European FIBA federations Seventeen national teams affiliated with the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) entered the competition. The International Basketball Federation ( French: Fédération Internationale de Basketball) more commonly known by the French acronym FIBA The competition was hosted by Turkey.
